![]() ![]() Guru perlu melibatkan pelajar secara aktif dalam proses P&Pnya dan ini menuntut kemahiran pengajaran yang tinggi dalam kalangan guru. Pengajaran guru mestilah sesuai dengan keupayaan dan kebolehan pelajar. ![]() Dalam konteks pengajaran dan pembelajaran Sejarah, guru perlulah lebih kreatif semasa merancang pengajarannya. ![]() Seseorang guru mestilah memiliki elemen kompetensi untuk menjadi guru yang baik seperti menguasai kandungan subjek yang diajar, berpengetahuan dalam pedagogi, berupaya memilih sumber pengajaran, mampu mempelbagaikan strategi pengajaran, memiliki kemahiran teknologi, mempunyai kemahiran komunikasi yang baik dengan pelajar serta mempunyai sikap dan personaliti yang positif seperti bermotivasi, humor dan berkeyakinan. Menurut Booth (1993) Goodwin dan Stevens (1993) pelajar yang berkualiti terhasil menerusi proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran yang berkesan. PENGENALAN Golongan pendidik merupakan individu yang berperanan penting menghasilkan pelajar yang cemerlang dan berkualiti tinggi. To conclude, action should be taken to upgrade teacher knowledge to improve teaching skill to produce excellent students who understand the importance of learning History in their daily lives. Correlation analyses showed no significant relationships existed between teachers' competency in the teaching of History and students' academic achievement and the multiple skilled teaching strategies and the skill of learning evaluation except for the skill of using ICT. The t-test showed that the teachers' skills did not differ in terms of gender but were significantly different in terms of the stream. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences for Windows (SPSS) Version 22 was used for data analysis.The study revealed that a majority of the History teachers mastered the multiple skilled teaching Strategies (KMST) and the skill of learning evaluation (KMPP). ![]() The sample involved 60 students (23 male and 37 female). Form Four students from a secondary school in Samarahan Disctrict, Sarawak were given the questionnaires. The study used survey research design to find out the influence of teachers'competency in the teaching of History on students' academic achivement. Three aspects which included the multiple skilled teaching strategies (KMST), the skill of learning evaluation (KMPP) and the skill of using ICT (KPTM) were studied. This study investigated the influence of teachers' competency in the teaching of History toward the students' academic achievement in the subject. ![]()
